The Atomic Backland XTD is a new touring boot combining the best features from their Backland series of Ultralight touring boots and XTD series of Crossover boots. The Backland XTD features a massive 74° range of motion that is incredibly frictionless.
The 120 Flex is nice and strong and has a little bit of progression in it. A nice round feeling flex that is uncommon in this category of Light & Stiff boots that feel like a brick wall.
We stock the Backland XTD with the GW sole as many fill use it as a hybrid option. It's a very light option for hybrid use, but we think the ski performance is strong enough to justify using it occasionally in the resort. Especially those who travel and ski backcountry overseas and are sick of travelling with two set of boots but still do big touring days.
